About Terry Ivey

Terry Ivey was born and raised in the southwestern portion of the state of Washington. At an early age he was executing tax strategies for his parents by slipping into life just before the end of the year to get a dependency deduction for his parents! Terry spent his youth shadowing and being mentored by his grandfather and father who were both small business owners.

Terry graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1980 with a BA degree in Business Administration and an AA degree in Computer Science. Terry began his career with a local accounting firm before moving to Boise and working his way up to become a tax manager for the international public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. In 1990, Terry started an accounting firm where he served his clients through 2019 before merging into Nichols Accounting Group in 2020 and becoming their Boise office.

Terry has concentrated in providing tax planning and compliance services as well as accounting and reporting services for his clients. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Idaho Society of Certified Public Accountants. Terry has served as a board member and officer on many local non-profit and professional organizations including past president of the Southwest Chapter of the Idaho Society of CPAs, various ISCPA committees, Northwest Integrity Housing, United Way, Hugh O’Brian Leadership Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America, and he served for 30 years as Treasurer of his church.

Terry and his wife Gay live in Eagle Idaho and enjoy spending time with their two children and their grandchildren. He enjoys all things electronic gadget related, listening to audio books, target shooting, hiking, and bicycling on the greenbelt and in the Boise foothills. Terry has completed 20 marathons, including Boston, and currently still enjoys an occasional shorter run.
